Presentation

I am a postdoctoral researcher at Rutgers University and research manager for the Newark Public Safety Collaborative (NPSC). I did my PhD in economics at the University Paris 1 - Pantheon Sorbonne, and I will defend it in December 2023.

The topic of my thesis was the application of Machine Learning in Public Policy. In this work, I explore how ML algorithms can and are integrated into the public policy framework, how to evaluate them, and how to use these models to create better public policy. My fields are the economics of criminality and the economics of education, with a strong focus on predictive policing and student dropout.

For my postdoc, I work on the evaluation of data-driven criminality policies. The objective of the NPSC is to provide the Newark communities with data insights on criminality, in order to empower them and allow citizens to be co-producers of public safety. Most of my work is centered around causal evaluation of the programs led by the NPSC, and the use of ML to create accurate criminality mapping.
